Been a while since the last update so let’s get right to it with preorder updates, build-up pics, and finally some new product announcements!

The Walrus by Christophe Arnold »

walrusannouncement

First up we want to introduce the Walrus and a related 4-figure set designed and 3D sculpted by the talented Christophe Arnold. This 1:35 scale APC and Figure set will be available late 2013/early 2014. Match this up with Michael Herm’s Rook and other modern military kits for some great diorama possibilities! Christophe is still working on the 4th figure, but we wanted to show this off sooner than later. Price/Release Date TBD.

Solid, Liquid, & Gas Container Sets »

Something missing from our line-up is some cool modern accessories to go with kits like the Ian McQue airships, Dustbuster, Walrus, and Rook. We enlisted Nate Clowar, the 3D artist behind the Dustbuster to create three different container sets based on Solids, Liquids, and Gasses. Mix elements from these three for your sci-fi and modern dioramas. Also worth mentioning is this is the first time we’ve done something based on reproducing real-life objects. We feel so weird doing real stuff, but in a good way as these work great for so many of our products! Price TBD. Release Date: October 2013.

FichtenFoo’s New iMech Build-ups »

The Dragonfly

fichtenfoo-im-dragonfly-00

I recently finished up two of our iMech releases. The first is my 1/35 Dragonfly. As biased as I am having designed it, the kit was a joy to work on. It’s large, but not in volume thanks to the large thin wings. A Step-By-Step can be found on my FichtenFoo blog here.

The Centurion

fichtenfoo-imech-centu-01

I also *finally* finished up one of my two Fabio M. Silva Centurion builds. I was waiting on LEDs and resistors, then got side-tracked with other work and projects. There wasn’t much to do to finish this up… just some soldering of the LEDs and inserting them and the small wires behind the eyes. A Step-By-Step can be found on my FichtenFoo blog here.

Prof. FichtenFoo’s Implausible Long-Nosed Submersible

The master for my new Fish Sub design is just about ready for production. The 3D pilot/seat designed by Christophe Desse was completed last night so as soon as I get thew print back, this goes to the caster. The photoetch and laser-cut windows are already done and in production. Here’s some images of the box art and master.

Scott Robertson’s Orbship

The Orbship is in production as we speak so I should be able to start preorders in next week. I recieved a sample batch of the laser-cut windows and they turned out really nice. Below is a pic of the windows as they come. They have a thin semi-clear plastic film on both sides that needs to be removed, but after you remove that film (which makes for a great mask!) the windows are super clear acrylic! I completed the box art and instructions are 99% done, just need to add the figure details to them.

Jake Parker’s Chompbot #5/Figures

The Chompbot is still in production. I should have a sample of the resin next week. The figures are also in production but those might take a little longer. Meanwhile, I completed the wrap-around labels for the figure boxes. Set A is the 4 Chomp Troopers and set B is both Chomp Pilots. Only the seated pilot comes with the Chompbot. The standing can be purchased separately and comes with an additional seated pilot perfect for using in cars, tanks, planes, etc!

Miguel Lopez Dustbuster »

Ownage sent me an image today of the Dustbuster final primed print. Looks great and the Campbell’s soup can is a great universal scale device. The print looks cool and I for one can’t wait to paint up this little guy after production!

Preorder Info »

1/35 Sashas are in production finally and I should have those ready to ship the week of June 11th. Same with the rest of the Deckhands. Miguel Lopez’s Dustbuster Driver

db-announcement

Was waiting on the render for this, got it, then forgot to post it up. Sorry for the wait, but it’s worth it! Here’s the Dustbuster driver, 3D modeled by Benny Garcia and conceptualized by Miguel Lopez. We went with the 3rd guy in the sketches and will probably do the other two at some point as well. The seated driver will also be available separately in a standing pose. (1/35 scale… any other scales wanted? Let us know!)

Miguel Lopez’s: Dustbuster Update!

db-announcement

Been a while since we’ve posted about this upcoming release. This Borderlands-inspired buggy is done and at the printer and the driver is a few days away from completion. Nate Clowar did a fantastic job of modeling this beastie and getting it ready for print. Here’s some final renders… it’s going to be a fun build! Final size:  at 1/35, it is approximately 5.5″ long, 3″ wide, and 2″ tall. Small but fierce!

Final Dustbuster Renders »

iMech News 12-16-2011

There’s lots going on with iMech and our collaborators. A lot of projects are near completion a means we’ll start to hit our goal of one major release a month soon! Here’s some random news highlights:

Miguel Lopez Dustbuster

I’ve been getting a few emails and PMs asking when the Dustbuster will be ready. Here’s some shots of the model so far. It’s getting really close to completion and we’re hoping for a release no later than April 2012.

dustbuster-01 dustbuster-03

Adrian Smith’s Frankenstein

This wasn’t planned initially as an Industria Mechanika release, but we couldn’t resist when we saw it! The Frankenstein started as a contest for CGHub where Adrian Smith supplied a few sketches and it was up to 3D modelers to interpret them. The winner got a printed copy of their design. I asked Adrian, CGHub and the winning artist, Rishi Nandlaskar if they’d like to produce it into a model and the answer was a resounding yes! The print is on it’s way to me now so expect this “beauty” to be released in the first half of 2012.

prodchallenge001_a img_6987 prodchallenge001_z

More Adrian Smith Designs

We also have two more of Adrians designs in the works and will be collaborating with Adrian and CGHub soon on another contest. Watch CGHub for details.

Jake Parker’s Chompbot #5

The 3D portions of the Chompbot are at the printer and should get to Jeff Brewer, our modeler for hand-refinement soon. Once he gets them and takes some pics I’ll post them. We’re also working on more accompanying figures by Jake Parker and Jose Alves da Silva as seen below.

chompbotfigs-01 chompbotfigs-02 chompbotfigs-03

Kallamity’s Kastor

The Kastor is on its way to us from Luca and as soon as I get it and take photos to start the instructions, and send the PE files to the etch producer, it’ll be on its way to the caster. Expect it in early 2012!Luca took some inspiration from Ian McQue’s rendering and added the following figures to the kit. Woo!

Dmitry Parkin’s Vampire

The Vampire is at the caster and will begin production as soon as the 1st Edition Remoras are out the door. The Vamp is our next release so watch for preorders to begin in January!

vampire3

Ian McQue’s Remora

The Remora 1st Edition kits are almost done at the caster and I’ll receive a batch next FridayThe caster has orders to keep producing more after the 1st 50 are completed so watch for the 2nd Edition to hit the site in January.

Derek Stenning’s Dystopic
