Hi everyone! A little bit of preorder news for you! Both of these will be available for preorder 6.28 and will ship in early August 2012.

Adrian Smith’s Frankenstein »

frankenflyer1

The wait is almost over for this massive beast! Adrian Smith’s Frankenstein is 12″ tall (not including base height) and features over 50 parts, real chain mail and chain. There’s 3/4 gallon of resin used in each kit if that gives you an idea of the mass. Due to the weight, international shipping costs will be somewhat higher than usual. Ian McQue’s Remora 3rd Edition »

remoracover

The Remora 3rd run will be available  for preordering Thursday June 28th 2012 around 10-11 AM EST. The price is still $150 + shipping. Don’t forget to add a set of the 1/35 Ian McQue Deckhands to your order to toil away on your airship,  swab the deck, and maybe clean up some of that rust. iMech News 6.9.2012

redstar-18

Hi everyone! I’ve been on a family vacation to the beach this past week so haven’t been as in-touch as usual. Hotel had great wi-fi of course, but the netbook I took is crap! Got back yesterday after a 9-hour drive home with kids in the car (Fun!) and am getting to your emails and questions as fast as possible. Hopefully this post will help.

Today I’ve got preorder updates for Sasha and Deckhands, images of many master prints including the Red Star 47, Sasha and Barrio 1/24, and Dustbuster pilot, and probably a few more informational tidbits.

Preorder Updates! »

First up is the preorder info. I have several casters working diligently on getting these done so that I can get them out the door and into your hands.
Sasha 1/35:
I am told I’ll have her casts by 6.14.2012. Otherwise the boxes are filled with wire and ready to go.
Sasha 1/32:
Replacement casts should be shipping next week as well to those of you that filled out the replacement form.
Deckhands 1/35: Different caster from Sasha, he’s aiming to ship the rest of the 1/35’s I need to cover preorders to me on Monday 6.11.2012 So by the end of next week they should be boxed and out the door.
Deckhands 1/24:
Same caster as 1/35’s, aiming to ship those to me by Wednesday 6.13.2012 so they’ll start shipping the week of the 18th.
Other upcoming preorder items:
Remora 3rd Ed, Sasha 1/24, Barrio Guy 1/35, Barrio Guy 1/24, Chompbot #5, Orbship, and Dustbuster.

Restocks! »

We’ve sold out of a LOT of items this past month and will be casting new editions of some of your favorites.
Remora:
We’re still aiming for a July restock of these. Fifty of the 3rd Edition kits will be available for preorder next month.
Sasha 1/35:
We’ve not got the first 100 out the door, but there’s been a lot of interest in her. As soon as I can get the first ones done I’ll start a preorder for the next batch.
Hornethopter: Lots of interest in this little beastie after we sold the last 10 at Wonderfest. I’ll attempt to restock these in August or September…. need to get some of our new scheduled releases out the door first.
Kastor: Same as the Hornethopter… planning to restock this one early Fall 2012.

Red Star 47 »

Here’s the first images of the master print taken by Ownage prior to shipping. As soon as I receive it I’ll snap more images, create the photoetch parts (since I need to do measurements) then send it off to David Guertin for casting.

1/35 Deckhands Series #1 Prints »

I received the prints yesterday, checked them and immediately shipped them off to one of our casters. We can expect these in about a month or 2 now so definitely sooner than the original July estimate. Watch for the preorders to begin. Here’s the photos I snapped of the prints before shipping them out:

iMech News 2.15.2101

Another month and time for another iMech news update! This time we show off some Ian McQue’s Remora build-ups and the latest for the upcoming  figure, set, a cool new Flyer from Christophe Desse, and the long awaited progress shots of Scott Robertsons Orbship!

Christophe Desse’s Red Star 47

redstar47-4

I first saw a photo of this cool Russian looking flyer by Christophe Desse, a 3D artist for Naughtydog, a few years back on the Concept Ships blog. I loved the design, saved it to my HD, but thought I was looking at a photo of a finished model kit so I didn’t attempt to contact Christophe about producing it. Luckily, he contacted us and as it turns out, the image was not a finished model, just a 3D render made to look like a completed toy/model.

redstar47-1

Christophe has been hard at work making small design changes to the flyer and designing all new figures to go with the kit. Look for the Red Star 47 flyer to be available for preorder November 2012.

KIT RELEASE DATE: November 2012
KIT SCALE: 1/35

Scott Robertson’s Orbship

sr_blast_orb_ship_yg

Been a while since we had news of this, but here are some in-progress renders of Scott Robertson’s 1/48 scale Orbship. Scott is still fine-tuning and adding details and 3D artist friend of his is working on a figure to accompany it.

Adrian Smith’s Frankenstein

prodchallenge001_a

Frankie is at the caster slated for an April 2012 release. Meanwhile I’ve been working on gathering materials and doing the print work for the kit. Because it’s really cool, I wanted to show off the chain maille that will come with the kit. It’s hard to see in the renders, but there’s a bit of maille under the belt and shoulder armor. Each kit will come with a 3 inch square sheet of 1/8″ steel ring maille to use to complete the kit.

Ian McQue Figure Set #1

Here’s a few shots of the 3rd figure in the upcoming Ian McQue figure set. Like the Rigger and Mopper, this waving crewman figure was modeled by Rishi Nandlaskar. Watch for upcoming shots of the final two in the set!

“Ian McQue’s Remora” Build-ups!

fichtenfoo-remoras-wp

Some really great build-ups of the First Edition Remora kits are appearing on our forums. Check them out here and leave the modelers some comments. I (FichtenFoo) finished my two Remora a few weeks ago. (pics here) The blue one is mine and the red was done for Ian based on the box art. He should receive it any day now so I can’t wait to hear what he thinks!

There’s still a few 2nd Edition Remora kits available for preorder. Click here to place a preorder of Ian McQue’s Remora.

Dmitry Parkin’s Vampire Preorder Info

The Dmitry Parkin Vampire is available for preorder right now and will be shipping next week. Watch for an upcoming build-up of the Vampire by the very talented Rick Cantu of Dragonstooth Miniatures!

iMech News 1-23-2012

Welcome to another edition of iMech News! This time we’ll announce a new upcoming FichtenFoo/MechaSkunk product collaboration, a new Ian McQue product, preorders and restocks, and some new pics of upcoming releases.

FichtenFoo’s Squid-Shaped Submersible!

This counterpart to the steampunk-styled Fish-Shaped Submersible was started by hand almost a year ago, but due to a less than awesome 3D print of the drill, was put on hold. Rob Fuchs of MechaSkunk who did the drill 3D file for me originally has taken on finishing the rest of the craft in 3D based on my sketches and half-done master parts. He’s adding some of his own touches and the progress is awesome. Can’t wait to see how the dive-planes and interior look. While the Fish-Sub is a peaceful civilian styled craft, the Squid is indeed a predator. Using the enormous screw propeller to streak through the water, it can ram vessels or use its tentacles and “beak” drill to fill their hulls full of holes. A true terror of the deep! 1/35 Scale! Look for the squid to be available late-summer 2012.

Discuss Squid-Shaped Submersible in the Forum!

Chompbot #5’s 3D Print and More Jake Parker Figures

Ownage sent us these images of the 3D print before they ship it to Jeff Brewer, the 3D/traditional sculptor who will be adding some final touches by hand. The bot is roughly 8.5″ (215mm) tall and looks to be a very fun build-up. The body is hollow to allow for lighting.

Jose Alves da Silva is almost done with the Chompbot Figure Set as well, and here’s a look at two more figures in-progress. The other figures can be seen in the last news update here.

Ian McQue Figure Set #1

We’d hoped to have this done before releasing the Remora, but it is coming! Here’s a preview of two of the five figures coming soon in the first Ian McQue Figure Set. The “Mopper” and the “Rigger”. These figures, sketched by Ian and 3D sculpted by Rishi Nandlaskar will look great on the deck of the Remora and future Ian McQue ship releases. We hope to release these in Spring 2012. 1/35 Scale!

Adrian Smith’s Frankenstein: Master

frankenstein-06

Woo! I received the master 3D print for The Frankenstein designed by Adrian Smith and 3D modeled by Rishi Nandlaskar in the post today. I immediately cracked open the box and started putting it together and I must say that this kit is BAD-ASS! Frankie stands about 12″ tall (not including the base) and is very heavy and beefy with the muscles and armor. This kit doesn’t have a scale as it was based on an existing 3D print, but I would say, considering his massive size, that he’d be about 1-8 scale.

Frankie Unmasked!

Until now I have never seen the back of this model or all of the details so when I opened the box and started removing the foam I was in for a surprise. I had thought that the helmet was molded on, but in fact it’s a separate part and Frankenstein has a fully-detailedhead/face beneath it. There’s a peg hole i the top of the head, but one could easily fill that with putty if they wanted a helmetless Frankie.

frankenstein-07

The kit consists of 54 parts so far. I need to order scale chain mail and chain for the mace to include in the box. Due to all the parts and detail, I need to create the instructions for him before he goes to the caster so expect him to be released in March or April. Until then, enjoy these pics!
