Hi everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve posted a proper update so figures I’d keep you all up-to date with our current happenings.

Ian McQue’s Remora

The Remora is with my caster at the moment. Not 100% sure when I’ll be getting the casts, but it may be at least a month. The Remora is a HUGE kit with a lot of parts so please be patient. Ian is diligently working on an all-new painting to be used for the box-art and instructions cover. The box-art and instructions are almost finished, they just need Ian’s finalized painting. (which I’ve seen progress of… it’s amazing!) I received the photoetch and it looks fantastic! The silk-screened waterslide decals are in production now and I should receive those soon. The 3D Captain figure designed by Ian and sculpted by Fin McGechie is almost done as well. Below is some progress images:

Jake Parker’s Chompbot #5

Jose Alves da Silva, a fantastic 3D character sculptor has finished up the pilot for the Chompbot. Another model-maker is working on the Chompbot and we’ll post progress on that as soon as we can.

Scott Robertson’s Orbship

The 3D design of the Orbship is progressing nicely. The final scale is now most-likely 1/48. Pics soon!

 

FichtenFoo’s Fantastical Fish-Shaped Submersible Restock

We’re restocking the Fish-Sub and taking preorders. Subs should ship around the end of next week. Click here to preorder the 4th Edition. We’ve also got a couple sets of the Sea Life Photoetch available as well.

And the winner is…

The votes have been tallied and the winning Scott Robertson design is…

The Orb Ship! The votes were pretty close overall, but this design won-out at the few forums where people placed votes. It’s a cool design and should make for a fun model kit with plenty of paint and weathering options.

This design will now enter the construction phase. Scott will have the Orb Ship designed in 3D then printed out in hi-resolution for our production master which will mean a crisp, accurate design. Stay tuned for more news!

Scott Robertson Collaboration

Industria Mechanika is excited to announce we will be offering a resin kit of one of Scott Robertson’s ship designs. Scott is known around the world for his creative vehicle designs featured in his Design Studio Press books such as “Lift Off,” “Start Your Engines” and “DRIVE.” His next collaborative book will feature a very wide range of new ship designs. With literally hundreds of designs to choose from our first task will be to decide which one to build. To this point, we would like to entertain suggestions as to which ship it should be. Please make suggestions in this forum thread.
